Meet The Principal
Efemena Iyede is a strategic leader, mentor, and storyteller with two decades of experience spanning engineering, economics, and leadership across Africa and Europe. Over the years, she has mentored countless young professionals and benefited immensely from the guidance of mentors who helped shape her career.
One question Efemena often asks successful people is simple but powerful: What’s your story? She’s deeply curious about how they navigated their path — the late nights, tough decisions, career pivots, rejections, failures, and the resilience it took to rise.
But what strikes her time and again is this: when she asks how they’re sharing these stories with the next generation, the response is often a laugh, a shrug, or a vague ‘they’ll figure it out.’ Many assume their journeys will somehow speak for themselves — even when no one’s heard the full story.
Efemena believes otherwise. She’s come to a clear conclusion: Africa is not lacking in successful people. What we often lack are accessible, authentic stories told in a way that can inspire, ignite, and guide others.
This is the heartbeat of Storified Africa.
Beyond her corporate experience, Efemena serves on the boards of early-stage startups as a Non-Executive Director and Advisory Board Member, where she supports innovation, strategy, and leadership development. She is also an angel investor, climate-tech mentor, and passionate advocate for purposeful leadership and cross-generational wisdom.
